How Does An Unsecured Credit Card Work?
A secured credit card requires you to put down some type of collateral.  Unfortunately, companies offering a secured credit card often times is a scams.  If they are legit, you must have money in the bank to cover the card at the time you apply.  Many people have dealt with fraud when it comes to secured cards.  To decrease your chances of becoming a victim of fraud or identity theft, be sure that you always monitor your finances.  You should always know what is going on in your account so that you can detect any unfamiliar activity.    

There Are Alternatives To Getting A Credit Card.  Try Using A Visa Check Card
If you are not comfortable with a credit card, or fear you will put yourself into credit card debt, try using a check card \.  Most bank check cards now have the VISA logo on them, which allow you greater purchase opportunities.  When you use the card, the money is taken directly from your bank account, you simply get the luxury of using it anywhere VISA is accepted.  Basically, you can not spend more than what you have in your account.  Whatever form of credit you use, make sure you can afford it.  The goal is to improve your credit rating, no incur credit card debts.
